A community where everyone has access to enough and safe water near their homes
Our Vision
A community where everyone has access to enough and safe water
Mission Statement
Supply sustainably accessible safe and enough water to rural Kisii communities
10 Year Target
Serving over 10,000 people in our community with clean and safe water by 2030
Water Stress Situation in Rural Kisii
Most natural springs and water sources in Kisii are on the verge of drying, this is attributed to climate changes and human encroachment into water catchment areas. Our girls and mothers now walk up to 2kms kilometers to fetch water as the springs near have now dried up.
Our Interventions
Water Resource Management
Protection and revival of water sources/ springs which are on verge of drying due to human activities and the effects of climate change
Water Quality Test & Monitoring
Promoting good health by doing water testing and quality monitoring at the in-house laboratory before water is supplied to beneficiaries
Infrastructure Setup & Supply
Design and setup of water supply infrastructure and water reticulation to beneficiaries. ISCoD embraces a whole-cycle water supply approach
ISCoD Extended Areas of Impact
Education
Providing water near our homes/ schools will ensure she stays longer in school. Also, ISCoD seeks to support her other educational needs to ensure she achieves her goals
Health
A number of health cases reported at our local health facilities are due to preventable causes like drinking unsafe water. ISCoD will be an active partner to ensure access to safe water.
Livelihood
Support the initiation process of sustainable livelihood-enhancing projects in our communities. Also, giving a boost to already existing livelihood projects so that they may realize their goals.
Environment
Waste from our homesteads and market areas is a key contributor to pollution at our water sources. ISCoD will engage in the provision of better solutions in solid waste management and recycling programmes
Climate Change
Tree planting programmes in protected water sources and under-covered areas in our community. Plastic recycling programme to help reduce greenhouse gases emitted as result of plastic pollution
Research, Training & Sensitization
Contextual solutions backed by continuous surveys, research, and monitoring activities. Training programmes on water, environment, and climate change impact

Let us unlock their potential
Our girls should spend more time in school and not fetching water. Our mothers need to use time spent fetching water to engage in livelihood-enhancing projects. Everyone deserves good health by having access to clean and safe drinking water
